Beate Scheffler (2009)

Beate Scheffler (born April 16, 1952 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen or SPD ). From 1997 to 2009 she was a member of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany and worked as a ministerial director in the Ministry for Schools and Further Education of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .

After graduating from high school in 1971, Scheffler studied Protestant theology , German and history in Essen from 1971 to 1975 for teaching at primary and secondary schools and passed her second state examination in February 1977. Scheffler has been a civil servant for life since 1981. She received her doctorate in 1995 ( The school policy of the Greens: programmatic statements and parliamentary initiatives ).

Scheffler was a member of the eleventh state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1990 to 1995 . She entered the state parliament via her party's state list. In 1995 she, who joined the Greens in 1986, resigned from her previous party and switched to the SPD.
