The Beatnuts is a Latino - Rap duo, which 1991 by JuJu (Jerry Tineo) - The Dominican descent - and Psycho Les (Lester Fernandez) - the Colombian descent - in Queens , New York was founded. The group has gone through many label changes. Her current label is Penalty Recordings .

For their first album, which was released in 1993, they took Fashion aka Al Tariq into the group, but after the first album it was no longer part of the group. They also have good connections to Tony Touch , Triple Seis, Cuban Link, Chino XL and Big Pun when he was still alive.

In addition to working for their own albums, they produced for Ghostface , Common , Mos Def , Missin Linx, Vinnie Paz and the Latino rapper Kurious, among others .
