Beatrix Binder von Degenschild (born September 20, 1916 , † 1965 ) was an Austrian actress .

Life

Degenschild was the daughter of Robert Binder, knight of Degenschild . Her brother was the engineer and motorcycle racing driver Franz-Josef Binder , a knight from Degenschild (1908–1960).

She was an actress at the Salzburg State Theater ; from 1947 she was engaged as a castle actress at the Vienna Burgtheater . Her stage roles there included: Agnes Sorel in Die Jungfrau von Orleans (1950), Francine in Gesang im Feuerofen by Carl Zuckmayer (1951), Leonardo's wife in Blood Wedding (1951), Ismene in Oedipus auf Kolonos (1952), Bertha in The Fiesco Conspiracy in Genoa (1952), Margaretha in Much Ado About Nothing (1952) and Mrs. Cooper in A Day with Edward by Hans Friedrich Kühnelt (1952). She also took part in the Salzburg Festival .

As a film actress, she played in the television film The Dyer and his twin brother ; in the television recording of a live performance from the Vienna Burgtheater, she was seen in 1960 as Marquisin Mondecar in Don Carlos .

The director Michael Haneke emerged from his marriage to Fritz Haneke . Her second marriage was to the composer Alexander Steinbrecher .
