Beaufort is a place with community status in the Welsh Principal Area Blaenau Gwent , which had 3866 inhabitants at the 2011 census.

geography

The Beaufort community is located north of Blaenau Gwent on the border with the Powys Principal Area . It borders on the Rassau community to the west, the Badminton community to the south, the Brynmawr community to the east, the Nantyglo and Blaina community to the southeast and the Llangynidr and Llangattock communities belonging to Powys to the north . In the south of the community Beaufort is the place of the same name, in the west there is another settlement with Garnlydan. The place is at an altitude of 365.5 meters.

history

Until 2010, the Beaufort community comprised much of the north of Blaenau Gwent. It was not until 2010 that the community was divided into the Badminton, Beaufort and Rassau communities with The Blaenau Gwent (Communities) Order 2010 , whose respective wards have since then been congruent with the communities.

Buildings

Beaufort has its own church with St David , which belongs to the parish of Upper Ebbw Valleys . There is also the Bethel Methodist Church .
