The Bebedouro was a fruit juice tanker put into service in 1986 . The ship was mainly used in the Atlantic and was canceled in 2013.

history

The fruit juice tanker was delivered in 1986 by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. to Tradax Ozean Transport, Geneva, and put into service under the Liberian flag . The company is part of the Cargill Group, which was founded in 1865 by William Wallace Cargill in Conover, Iowa, USA.

The Bebedouro received its name from the freighter Bebedouro (IMO No. 7436648), which was converted into a fruit juice tanker in Norway in 1982 , which was then renamed Uchoa . The ship was later equipped with additional tanks on deck, which increased the measurement from 10,195 to 11,150 GRT. The Bebedouro was sold to OSM Maritime Services in Hong Kong in 1992 and to OSM Group in Arendal, Norway in 2002. Management was transferred to Acomar (UK), Glasgow, in 1995, to V.Ships UK in 2001 and to Atlanship , La Tour-de-Peilz, Switzerland in 2005 .

In 2013 the fruit juice tanker was sold for demolition and scrapped in Turkey .

Ship description

The fruit juice tanker Bebeduro was a typical such reefer without tween decks with high load compartments built where the stainless steel tanks were for the charge. The outer skin , the floor, the weather deck and the transverse bulkheads of the holds were insulated and the holds were cooled. The bridge house and engine room were aft.

The ship was mainly used to transport orange juice from South America to Europe and the USA.
