Because You're Mine is a song written by Nicholas Brodszky (music) and Sammy Cahn (lyrics) and released in 1952.

Brodszky and Cahn wrote a number of movie songs for Mario Lanza , such as Be My Love , Wonder Why , Serenade and My Destiny . Because You're Mine was made for the film My Heart Sings Just For You ( Because You're Mine , 1952, directed by Alexander Hall ). In the film, the song was presented by Mario Lanza. Mario Lanza's '78 release of Because You're Mine / The Song Angels Sing ( His Master's Voice , DA 2017) was a huge hit in the United States. The song then received an Oscar nomination for Best Song .

Because You're Mine was covered by numerous musicians in the USA in the 1950s. a. by Billy Eckstine / Nelson Riddle , Dinah Washington / Quincy Jones , Guy Lombardo , Keely Smith , Nat King Cole and Carmen McRae , later and others a. also by Monty Alexander (1987) and Ralph Sharon (1994).
