The Beck Peak is a 2,650 m high mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises on the eastern flank of the Amundsen Glacier 3 km northwest of Mount Stubberud from a ridge that extends from the northern Nilsen Plateau in the Queen Maud Mountains .
The mountain was mapped using photographs taken by the US polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd during the first Antarctic expedition (1928–1930) . The United States Geological Survey specified this mapping based on its own surveys and aerial photographs by the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain in 1967 after Andreas Beck (1864–1914), ice pilot on the South Pole expedition (1910 –1912) by the Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen . The committee referred to the mountain Mount A. Beck named by Amundsen, but not assignable .
