Bedouin Soundclash is a Canadian band from Toronto , Ontario, founded in 2001 . Her music style is a mix of reggae , rock , soul and ska .

history

Jay Malinowski, Eon Sinclair and Pat Pengelly met while at Queen's University in Kingston , Ontario. In 2001 they released their first album, Root Fire . The Djembé player Brett Dunlop also worked there .

Their second album, Sounding a Mosaic , which came on the market in 2004, has been prepared by Bad-Brains - bassist produced Darryl Jenifer. The first single When the Night Feels My Song was her breakthrough in Canada. After it landed first on the CFNY FM charts, more and more other Canadian radios played the song in the summer of 2005.

The name "Bedouin Soundclash" comes from the album of the same name by the artist Raz Mesinai .

In the summer of 2005 they played on the Warped Tour . Moreover reached Sounding a Mosaic in the United Kingdom in first place in the BBC 6 Music forex charts and 24th place of the official singles charts.

During their 2006 tour, they played with Ben Harper , Damian Marley , The Skatalites and Burning Spear .

When the Night Feels My Song was also the song for a T-Mobile commercial in Canada and the UK. 12:59 pm Lullaby was the theme music for a Grey's Anatomy episode.

Her third album Street Gospels was released on August 21, 2007.

In January 2009, the drummer Pat Pengelly left the band. In February 2010, Sekou Lumumba was introduced as the new drummer. The fourth studio album Light the Horizon was released on September 28, 2010 on their self-founded label Pirates Blend Records.

In the summer of 2016, the band announced that they were working on a new album and that drummer Chuck Treece was a new member of the band.
