The Beechcraft Model 60 Duke is a twin-engine aircraft produced by the American manufacturer Beechcraft . The machine has a retractable nose wheel and a pressurized cabin . The two boxer engines are equipped with turbochargers . The cabin is supplied with compressed air at 0.32 bar.

The development of the Beechcraft 60 began in the spring of 1965. It was intended as a machine that should close the gap between the Beechcraft Baron and the Beechcraft Queen Air . The prototype took off on its maiden flight on December 29, 1966 . On 1. February 1968 the authorization granted FAA type certification.

Delivery to customers began in July 1968. The Beechcraft A60, which came onto the market in 1970, represented a further development with an improved pressurized cabin, lighter and more powerful turbochargers and improved altitude performance.

The last variant was the B60, which was introduced in 1974. The interior has been renewed and the performance increased again through improved turbochargers.

Despite its very good performance data, the Beechcraft 60 was only a moderate sales success because the complicated technology required a lot of maintenance. Production stopped in 1982:
