The Beechcraft Baron is a fast, twin-engine private and business travel aircraft . In addition to the pilot , it offers space for five passengers. The model introduced in 1961 is technically derived from the Beechcraft Bonanza , but is currently still sold by Hawker Beechcraft for around 1.2 million US dollars. There are two variants: the Baron 55 (short body) and the Baron 58 (long body). Currently only the Baron 58 is being built. The current version of the Baron G58 is factory-fitted with the Garmin G1000 glass cockpit.

The Baron 95-B55 was used by the US Army and the Turkish Armed Forces under the designation T-42A Cochise .
Lufthansa also used the Baron 55 (at Phoenix Goodyear Airport ) to train its young pilots.
