Pacified District (Hunting Law)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The following applies in Germany: According to section 6 sentence 1 of the Federal Hunting Act (BJagdG) and the hunting laws of the federal states, areas on which hunting rests, i.e. hunting activities may not be carried out without further permission, are designated as pacified districts .

Location

Examples of pacified districts in the sense of hunting law are localities, other buildings that are primarily used by people, and cemeteries. After § 6 sentence 3 BJagdG are zoos exempt from the provisions of hunting law. The federal states can create their own rules in their hunting laws. In addition, parts of hunting grounds can be declared pacified areas by the hunting authorities .

A hunting district can be pacified for ethical reasons on application and through a judicial decision, in accordance with Section 6a of the BJagdG.

exception

Hunting in pacified areas may be necessary on a case-by-case basis (for example shooting wild boars in the settlement area, catching or shooting raccoons or martens ), including rabbits , foxes , mallards and wood pigeons . Exceptions are required for this. These are mostly issued by the hunting authorities and / or state police authorities exclusively to the so-called “ city hunter ”. In the narrower sense, one does not speak of hunting here (it is not allowed in pacified areas), but rather of a shooting permit or killing permit.
