Begoña Fernández Molinos (born March 22, 1980 in Vigo ) is a former Spanish handball player .
Career
Fernández's first professional station was the Spanish club Millar L'Eliana Valencia , for which she ran from 1998 to 2002. From 2003 she was under contract with SD Itxako . In 2005 Orsán Elda Prestigio , with whom she won the championship in 2008 , joined the circuit . She returned to SD Itxako three years later. With Itxako she won the championship in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, the Spanish Cup in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and the EHF Cup in 2009. In the summer of 2012, she moved to the Serbian first division club ŽRK Zaječar . In December 2012 she left Zaječar and signed a contract with the Macedonian first division club ŽRK Vardar SCBT . With Vardar she won the championship in 2013, 2014 and 2015 as well as the Macedonian Cup in 2014 and 2015. She ended her career in summer 2015.
Fernández played 172 caps for the Spanish national team , in which they scored 372 goals. With Spain she finished second at the 2008 European Championship . In addition, she was elected to the all-star team of the EM. At the 2009 World Cup she was re-elected to the Allstar Team. In the summer of 2012, Fernández took part in the Olympic Games in London , where she won the bronze medal. In January 2014, she announced her resignation from the national team.
Fernández has been an assistant trainer at NZ Australis Lavadores since summer 2017.
