The authorities mirror is a monthly national newspaper for the public service in Germany. It is published by ProPress Verlagsgesellschaft mbH in Bonn. According to ivw, the monthly circulation is 112,000 copies. The newspaper has editorial offices in Berlin and Bonn and also has offices in Brussels and Vienna.

The newspaper is divided into the four books "Current Public Service", "Municipalities", "Administrative Modernization" and "Security & Defense".

The Federal Audit Office carried out a survey of how many copies of the authorities mirror were sent to federal ministries free of charge and for a fee and whether this resulted in an individual mention as sponsorship in the federal government's sponsorship report. So far, the 12,000 free copies delivered were included in the numerical mention of sponsorship services according to a survey that took place in 2014.

Other publications by the Spiegel authorities are subject-specific special publications. For example, the BOS-Führer , a manual for the authorities and organizations with security tasks (BOS) that appears every two years, the manual of the military attachés in Germany , which lists all foreign military attachés stationed in Germany and appears in the same rhythm. The Modern Armed Forces series deals with the transformation and equipment of the armed forces, while the AFCEA special is published on the occasion of an annual specialist exhibition on IT for the military and security authorities.

The Spiegel authorities also organize congresses, meetings and around 220 seminars a year. These include the Berlin Security Conference , the European Police Congress , the Digital State , Public IT Security and the European Disaster Protection Congress . Other congresses deal with demography, public infrastructure and budget modernization. In addition, there are meetings on administrative modernization in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
