Beiseker is a village in Alberta , Canada .
history
Beiseker, which is in a fertile area, was established as an agricultural center in 1908 on the initiative of the Calgary Colonization Company . Settlers from Germany who first emigrated to Dakota were Beiseker's first residents, which is still reflected today in the striking frequency of German family names.
In 1910 Beiseker got a connection to the Canadian Pacific Railway , two years later to the newly built Canadian National Railway . The intersection of highways 9, 27 and 806 northeast of the village also gave Beiseker an advantageous infrastructural location and finally, in 1921, the status of a village.
economy
The productive wheat cultivation in the area led to the development of the industry for agricultural products such as fertilizers . Furthermore, crude oil and natural gas are produced there, which is why Beiseker is served by various large pipelines .
The Canadian headquarters of Lampson International , an international manufacturer of construction cranes, is located in Beiseker, as is an incinerator for biomedical waste from across Canada.
