Calgary Region , actually Calgary Metropolitan Region (CMR), is one of the six regions in the Canadian province of Alberta . More than a third of the province's population live in this area (around 1.46 million out of 4.07 million).

The region includes the city of Calgary and the cities ( English City ) Airdrie and Chestermere , the small towns ( English Town ) Black Diamond , Cochrane , Crossfield , High River , Irricana , Okotoks , Strathmore and Turner Valley , the villages ( English Village ) Beiseker and Longview , the districts ( English Municipal district ) Foothills No. 31 and Rocky View County , as well as the Indian reservations Tsuu T'ina 145 and Eden Valley 216.
