Northern Alberta
Northern Alberta is one of the six regions in the Canadian province of Alberta .

In addition to the Aspen Parkland and the Muskeg , the region mainly has - further north - boreal coniferous forest . In the Peace Country , along the Peace River and its tributaries , you will also find arable farming and pasture farming on the fertile soils of the local prairie .

Kimberlite fields
There are three kimberlite fields in the region :
economy
The main industry in the region is gas and oil production, which are operated in the Athabasca oil sands and the Wabasca oil field . Gas production is primarily concentrated in Peace River County and the Chinchaga and Rainbow Lake areas . There is also forestry and logging in the boreal coniferous forest.

Athletes from Northern Alberta regularly participate in the Arctic Winter Games , alongside athletes from Nunavut , the Northwest Territories and the Yukon and Nunavik . Athletes from Alaska and Greenland also take part in these games.
