Northern Alberta is one of the six regions in the Canadian province of Alberta .

Kimberlite fields

economy

The main industry in the region is gas and oil production, which are operated in the Athabasca oil sands and the Wabasca oil field . Gas production is primarily concentrated in Peace River County and the Chinchaga and Rainbow Lake areas . There is also forestry and logging in the boreal coniferous forest.
