The Alberta Highway 63 is a highway in northwestern Alberta . It begins north of Fort MacKay , then crosses the Athabasca oil sands deposits and Fort McMurray . Further south, it ends after 434 km at the junction with Alberta Highway 28 . The highway is part of the Canadian National Highway System as a so-called “core route” .

Worth seeing

In the northern area the highway runs through boreal coniferous forest and the Athabasca oil sands deposits.
