The Alberta Highway 69 is a short, running in east-west direction highway in northwestern Alberta . It begins on the southwestern outskirts of Fort McMurray at a junction from Alberta Highway 63 and ends 14 km south of Saprae Creek at the entrance to a freight yard on the Canadian National Railway . Fort McMurray International Airport is on its route .
The highway is part of the Canadian National Highway System as a so-called “core route” .
