Michael Rieser
Michael Rieser (born September 5, 1828 in Schlitters , Tyrol ; † November 9, 1905 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter.
He studied at the Danzig Art School and then from 1848 to 1850 at the Academy in Munich with Christian Ruben . From 1861 he was a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus.
After a long stay in Rome (1861–1864) he returned to Vienna, where he worked from 1868 to 1888 as a professor at the kk Kunstgewerbeschule of the kk Österreichisches Museum für Kunst und Industrie . Well-known painters such as Gustav Klimt and Franz von Matsch were among his students .

- four altarpieces for the church in the Bohemian Kladrub (on behalf of Prince Alois von Liechtenstein )
- Altarpiece of Saint Anne for the parish church in Schlitters
- Altarpiece "The Holy Family" for the hospital church in Trier
- 1880: Mosaic in the high altar of the Schottenkirche in Vienna
