Bekir Yıldız

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bekir Yıldız (* 1933 ; † 1998 ) was a Turkish- Kurdish writer who worked in the Turkish language. He began his career as an author after four years as a Turkish guest worker at Heidelberg , with a publication about Turks in Germany.

Life

Yıldız came to West Germany as a printer in 1962. In 1966 he processed his experiences into the book Türkler Almanyada ( Eng .: The Turks in Germany), which was published in Istanbul . The work meant a first negative refraction for the previously common image of Germany in Turkish literature, which was later further differentiated by the " guest worker literature " in Germany, which was also carried back to Turkey. In the course of this, a work by Yıldız appeared in German for the first time in 1974: a story from the book Alman Ekmegi (German: German bread) was published in the magazine Kürbiskern .

One of the main themes of Yıldız, who belonged to the revolutionary writers of Turkey, remained - even after the Kurd had to leave the country for a third country - the German society he perceived as decadent .
