Mathilde Jamin

Mathilde Jamin (* 1948 ) is a German historian .

Life

Jamin studied history and German at the Ruhr University Bochum and the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg . In 1982 she did her doctorate with a thesis supervised by Hans Mommsen on the subject of between classes. On the social structure of the SA leadership .

From 1984 she worked at the Ruhrland Museum in Essen as a historian (history of the 19th and 20th centuries) and curator . One focus of her work was the history of migration in the Ruhr area. Jamin got involved in a museum of migration. She was part of the steering group for the Route der Migration project at the Documentation Center and Museum on Migration in Germany .
