Belgrave is a district in the southeast of the Australian metropolis Melbourne . It is located approx. 35 km from the city center and had a population of just under 4,000 in 2016. It was named after a chapel in Leeds, England .

The district borders the Dandenong Ranges National Park to the east . Another tourist attraction is the Puffing Billy Railway , a museum railway set up in 1962.
