The Belknap Crater is a shield volcano in the US state of Oregon . The mountain is north of the North Sister volcano . Around 1030 BC About 300 years BC, several eruptions occurred in this area, in which a large number of volcanic cones, cinder cones and lava flows were formed, which extended westward to a distance of 15 km. These eruptions are among the most recent volcanic events in the Cascade Mountains .
The last two eruptions were recorded using the radiocarbon method from around 800 BC. BC ± 300 years and dated to around 480. No volcanic activity is currently observed.
