Beltrán Arbeleche

Beltrán Arbeleche (born September 12, 1902 in Buenos Aires , Argentina , † 1989 ) was an architect .

Arbeleche was born in Buenos Aires as the son of Beltrán Arbeleche and Marcelina Ferrari. He had a brother named Roberto (* 1905), who also later worked as an architect, and a sister named Helena. The Beltrán Arbeleches family then went to Montevideo , where they visited the Escuela de Reyes . Arbeleche then directed his further training towards the engineering profession, but finally turned to architecture. In 1931, the year he married Azucena Ituño, Arbeleche successfully completed his training as an architect. A little later he got a job with the city administration of Montevideos, but soon gave up this position for a later work at the Banco de Seguros, which lasted until 1975.

Arbeleche was responsible for the construction of various buildings that shape the cityscape of Montevideo, such as the Administración Nacional de Puertos , the Bolsa de Comercio , the Instituto de Jubilaciones y Pensiones Civiles , the Edificio 14 de Mayo , the Banco de Seguros del Estado and the Centro Militar . He often worked with the architects Miguel Angel Canale (born June 21, 1902) and Italo Dighiero .
