Ben Feleo

Ben Feleo (born 1925 in the Philippines ; † September 21, 2011 , Marikina City , Metro Manila , Luzon , Philippines) was a Filipino screenwriter and director .

Life

Feleo started out as a screenwriter in the Filipino film industry and made his debut in 1959 with the screenplay for Kahapon lamang . In the following decades he wrote the scripts for over 70 other films, most recently in 2002 for Home Alone da Riber .

In the mid-1960s he began working as a director and in 1966 he directed Target: Sexy Rose, his first own film, which was followed by almost fifty other films, most recently D'Uragons in 2002 . Numerous well-known Filipino actors such as the so-called "King of Comedy" Dolphy , the rapper Andrew E. or the comedian Jimmy Santos worked in his films . In 1994 he had his only appearance as an actor in the film Ikaw ang Miss Universe ng buhay ko .

Feleo was married to actress Zeny Zabala , who was twice nominated for the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Award (FAMAS Award). Their son was the actor and screenwriter Johnny Delgado , who in turn was married to the actress and director Laurice Guillen . From their marriage came the daughters Ana Feleo and Irina Feleo, both of whom are also actresses.
