Chewing gum miniature

Ben Wilson (* 1963 in Cambridge , England ) is a London- based street artist . He paints miniatures on chewing gum that has been spat out and stuck to the pavement.

Wilson first began in 1998 with the occasional painting of chewing gum paintings and from October 2004 he devoted himself entirely to this art. He created more than 10,000 of these works on sidewalks in Europe, most of them in London.

Wilson heats the gum mass with a small blowtorch, smooths it, and then applies white varnish . He uses special acrylic paints and takes up to ten hours to create a picture.

Various media reported on Wilson's work, including the BBC , Yourope , This is Local London , The Observer , Raw Vision and The Daily Telegraph . Two short documentaries were made about Ben Wilson and his work.

In 2005, Wilson was arrested in Trafalgar Square and arrested by the City of London Police in 2009 on suspicion of property damage, a case that was also dropped a few months later.
