Benas Simkus

Benas Šimkus (born January 1, 1941 in Lieplaukė , Telšiai district ) is a Lithuanian liberal politician , from 2007 Vice Mayor of the municipality of Klaipėda .

Life

From 1948 he studied in the Mosėdis Middle School . At the same time he worked as a brigade worker on the farm in the kolkhoz , mechanic , electrician and driver. In 1963 he was an officer in the Skuodas district of the militia of Soviet Lithuania . From 1964 he graduated from the Kaunas militia high school with the Abitur and continued to work in Skuodas . 1982 Benas Šimkus completed the diploma in mechanics at the Faculty Klaipeda on Kauno politechnikos institutas and became an engineer of mechanics. In 1992 he became a colonel in the Lithuanian office. From 1969 to 2000 he worked for the Lithuanian police in Klaipėda . He has been a pensioner since 2000. From 2007 he was the deputy mayor of Klaipėda.

Benas Šimkus was a member of Tvarka ir teisingumas .

In 1991 he established the sports club "Beisbolas" and was its director.

He is divorced and has children.
