Benedikt Oster (born July 7, 1988 in Koblenz ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and has been a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament since 2011.

Career

Oster attended the secondary school Treis-Karden in the district of Cochem-Zell and trained as a road attendant from 2004 to 2007 . He worked in this profession until he moved into the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament in 2011.

In 2009 he became a member of the SPD. From 2012 to 2017 he was deputy district chairman of the SPD Cochem-Zell. He has been chairman of the district association since January 2017. Oster was already the Juso district chairman from 2010 to 2012 . In 2014 he became a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Rhineland-Palatinate . From 2009 to 2014 he was a member of the Treis-Karden municipal council . Since the 2014 local elections and the associated merger to form the new Kaisersesch association , he has been a member of the municipal council and a member of the Cochem-Zell district council . He is a member of the local council of Binningen . Since April 2017 he has been an alderman of the Kaiseresch community.

In 2011 he moved to the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate for Heike Raab , who was appointed to the Beck V cabinet . This made him the youngest member in the history of the Landtag of Rhineland-Palatinate.

After the state elections in 2016, he replaced Heike Raab in the state parliament.

In the state parliament he is a member of the Committee on Economics and Transport and the Committee on Agriculture and Viticulture . He is the transport policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group.
