The Verbandsgemeinde Treis-Karden was a regional authority in the district of Cochem-Zell in Rhineland-Palatinate . The Verbandsgemeinde belonged to 17 independent local parishes , the administrative seat was in the eponymous local parish Treis-Karden .
The municipality of Treis-Karden was dissolved by state law of November 22, 2013 on July 1, 2014. At the same time, their local communities Lieg , Lütz , Moselkern , Müden (Mosel) , Pommern and Treis-Karden became part of the association community of Cochem , their local communities of Binningen , Brieden , Brohl , Durfus , Forst (Eifel) , Kail , Möntenich and Roes became part of the association community of Kaisersesch and their local communities Lahr , Mörsdorf and Zilshausen incorporated into the association community Kastellaun in the Rhein-Hunsrück district .
