Benedikt Stolz OSB (born January 6, 1895 in Erkrath , † April 29, 1986 in Jerusalem ) was a Catholic theologian.

Life

He attended primary school in Erkrath and Hochemmerich , a grammar school in Duisburg until 1900 and then the Benedictine Oblate School in Seckau . After graduating from high school, he entered Gerleve Abbey and made his profession in 1914. He studied theology and philosophy in Maria Laach , Gerleve and Rome , and completed this course in 1923 with a dissertation on the "Doctrine of grace of St. Hilary ". After ordination in 1920, at the request of his abbot, he was on Mount Zion in 1921 to become a monk of the dormition prefect of the Latin seminary. After his dissertation he returned and began teaching various subjects at the seminary. In the Dormition Abbey he served as organist on the small harmonium in the choir room. In addition, he was an infirmar, chronicler, novice master and photographer. Anselm Stolz's brother the Borromean Sisters in Jerusalem for over 50 years , was a teacher of their novices and a spiritual father.
