Benedito Araújo

Benedito Araújo (born November 21, 1963 in Paço do Lumiar , Maranhão , Brazil ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Guajará-Mirim .

Life

Benedito Araújo received on 17 November 1991, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 23, 2011 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to coadjutor bishop of Guajará-Mirim. The bishop emeritus of Viana , Xavier Gilles de Maupeou d'Ableiges , donated him episcopal ordination on June 4th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of São Luís do Maranhão , José Belisário da Silva OFM , and the Bishop of Guajará-Mirim, Geraldo Verdier . On December 8, 2011, Benedito Araújo became Bishop of Guajará-Mirim, succeeding Geraldo Verdier, who resigned for reasons of age.
