description

The Benholm Parish Church is located in the middle of the scattered settlement Benholm about one kilometer away from the North Sea coast . The simple classicist hall church has an elongated floor plan. The south facade of the Harl plastered building has four high arched windows. The gable ends are designed with stylized triangular gables. The main portal on the west side closes with a segmented arch into which a five-part window is inserted.

Fragments of the medieval church were reused in the construction. Furthermore, two wall monuments from the 17th century were moved from the choir of the old church to the current structure. They commemorate the death of William Keith, 5th Earl Marischal or Robert Scott of Benholm . While the first monument is rather naively sculptured, the second is designed with a baroque marble tablet .
