Benjamin Adjei

Benjamin Adjei (born May 14, 1990 in Tegernsee ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Life

Benjamin Adjei graduated from the Bad Tölz technical college . In 2016 he completed his studies in Scientific Computing with a B. Sc. from. In 2018 he completed his studies in stochastical engineering with an M. Sc. from. During his studies, he spent time abroad in Zurich and Helsinki. He worked as a data scientist specializing in artificial intelligence. He played for years in a sports club and worked part-time in a gym during his studies.

His father comes from Ghana and was a ministry employee there. He met Adjei's mother in North Rhine-Westphalia . Adjei has two younger sisters.

politics

In 2011 Adjei became a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . In 2012 he was elected to the local executive committee of Taufkirchen. Since 2013 he has been active as spokesman for the state working group for universities, research and technology at Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Bayern . In 2014 he did an internship with parliamentary group leader Ludwig Hartmann . In 2015 he became the spokesman for the Green Youth in Upper Bavaria . In 2018 he was elected to the state committee of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Bayern.

Adjei won the direct mandate in the state elections in Bavaria in 2018 in the district of Munich-Moosach , he prevailed against the CSU member Mechthilde Wittmann with 26.2 percent of the first votes . Initially, the lead was 78 votes. After it became known that some results were initially estimated in Munich, a recount was arranged after the decision of the district electoral committee. After the recount, the lead was 32 votes. Adjei is also a member of the Committee on Economics, Regional Development, Energy, Media and Digitization.
