Benjamin Barrera y Reyes MJ (born December 28, 1902 in Sensuntepeque , El Salvador , † February 4, 1999 ) was Bishop of Santa Ana .

Life

Benjamin Barrera y Reyes joined the Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Joseph at and received on 29 July 1934, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On September 25, 1942, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Sabadia and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Santa Ana. The Apostolic Nuncio in El Salvador, Archbishop Giuseppe Beltrami , donated him episcopal ordination on November 15 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of San Salvador , Luis Chávez y González , and the Bishop of Santa Ana, Giacomo Richardo Vilanova y Meléndez .

On March 1, 1954, Pius XII appointed him. to the Bishop of Santa Ana. Benjamin Barrera y Reyes resigned as Bishop of Santa Ana on February 25, 1981.

Barrera y Reyes attended the first session of the Second Vatican Council .
