Benjamin Berton (* 1974 in Valenciennes ) is a French writer and political scientist .

Education and professional

Berton is a graduate of the Institut d'études politiques de Paris , where he dealt with social and cultural history in his DEA work. Today he works for the Sécurité Sociale in Paris.

Literary work

Berton's novels, two of which have so far been published in German in translations by Hinrich Schmidt-Henkel , are strongly influenced by the author's sociological perspective. Wildlinge (original: Sauvageon ) plays mainly among young people in Berton's home region on the Belgian border, Am Pool (original: Classe Affaires ) among young employees from the financial, media and administration sectors.

Awards

He won the Prix ​​Goncourt du premier roman for Sauvageon in 2000 and the Prix littéraire de la Vocaton in 2005.
