Benjamin Francis Leftwich (born September 4, 1989 in York ) is a British singer-songwriter .

Life

Leftwich grew up in York, the city of his birth, and began making music at the age of ten, teaching himself to play guitar , among other things . He sees the musicians Arcade Fire , Bruce Springsteen and Ryan Adams as inspiration for his music.

Career

On July 4, 2011 Leftwich released his debut album Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm , which peaked at number 35 on the UK album charts that same year . The Sunday Times described him as a "serious new talent," but the Daily Express criticized the fact that almost all of the titles were too similar.
