Benjamin Lauterbach (* 1975 in Kronberg im Taunus ) is a German writer, editor and journalist.

Life

He studied German and philosophy in Frankfurt am Main and Munich , and is a graduate of the German Literature Institute in Leipzig . Lauterbach has received numerous grants and prizes, including the scholarship from the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, the Villa Decius in Krakow , the artists' village in Schöppingen and the Berlin Senate. His father is the theater director and director Ulrich Lauterbach .

Career

In 2009 he won the Landesbühnen's award for authors with his play “Relationship Way”, and in 2011 he was invited to the Berlin Stückemarkt with his play “The Chinese” . The play "Der Chinese" won the jury's prize at the Hessische Theatertage in 2013 and the NachSpielPreis at the Heidelberger Stückemarkt in 2017. In 2007 he received the “Bremer Netzresidenz” award from the Bremen Literature House for his internet project “Weltwohnen” . Lauterbach has published two volumes of poetry in Munich's Bookspot Verlag, as well as short stories in numerous anthologies. Lauterbach writes regularly for ZEIT ONLINE.
