Benjamin Rust

Benjamin Rust (born December 5, 1979 in Wuppertal ) is a German basketball player . He played for Brandt Hagen and the Schwelmer Baskets in the basketball league and played a total of 66 appearances in the top German division.

career

Via the BG Wuppertal and the second division Paderborn  , Rust came to Bundesliga club Brandt Hagen in 1999, for whom he made his debut in the basketball division in September 1999 . Until 2003, the 1.99 meter long winger was active in Hagen, where, in addition to Bundesliga appearances for Brandt, he also played second division games for BG Hagen.

In 2003 Rust moved to the Schwelmer Baskets  and rose with the team in the first year in the Bundesliga. In the 2004/05 season he was on the field for Schwelmer in 21 Bundesliga games and recorded an average of five points per encounter. In 2005 Rust went to Phoenix Hagen  in the second division and returned to Schwelm in January 2008. The team has meanwhile started in the regional league. Rust stayed there until 2010, followed by a year of play at FC Schalke 04 in the Regionalliga in the 2009/10 season , and between 2010 and 2013 he strengthened the BG Hagen (also Regionalliga).

In 2013, Rust moved to Rote Erde Schwelm in the league and rose with the team to the 2nd regional league. In the spring of 2016, he took over as a coach there.
