Benjamin Saxton (born June 30, 1993 ) is an American cross-country skier .

Career

Saxton started in January 2012 in Rumford for the first time in the US Super Tour and came 61st place over 15 km freestyle and 37th place in the sprint. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2013 in Liberec , he achieved 60th place over 10 km freestyle, 14th place in the sprint and 12th place with the relay. In the 2013/14 season he came in second place three times in the US Super Tour and thus reached seventh place in the overall standings. At the U23 World Championships in 2014 in Fiemme Valley , he took 42nd place in the skiathlon, 38th place over 15 km classic and 33rd place in sprint. After two second places in the US Super Tour at the beginning of the 2014/15 season, he won his first Continental Cup in the sprint at the Slavic Cup in Nové Město . In February 2015, he achieved 41st place in the skiathlon and sixth place in the sprint at the U23 World Championships in Almaty and 54th place in the sprint at the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun . He finished the season in 12th place overall on the US Super Tour. At the U23 World Championships in 2016 in Râşnov , he achieved 25th place in the sprint. After finishing ninth in the Australia / New Zealand Cup in the summer of 2016 , he came second and third on the US Super Tour in winter 2016/17 and thus reached 11th place in the Overall rating. In the following season he reached eighth place in the overall ranking of the US Super Tour with three second places and a third and first place.

After second place in the sprint and topped the 15-km mass start race in Snow Farm and eighth overall in the Australia / New Zealand Cup earlier in the season 2018/19, Saxton came in the sprint in Vernon and Lake Placid each on the third place. In Craftsbury , he became the American freestyle sprint champion and at the end of the season he finished second in the overall ranking of the US Super Tour. He made his debut in the World Cup in November 2018 in Ruka , which he finished in 68th place in the sprint.
