Benny Moten
Clarence Lemont 'Benny' Moten (born November 30, 1916 in New York , † March 27, 1977 ) was an American jazz bassist .
Live and act
Moten first played in 1941 with Hot Lips Page and Jerry Jerome , then from 1942 to 1949 with Henry Red Allen and Eddie South . In the 1950s he worked at Stuff Smith , Ivory Joe Hunter, Arnett Cobb, and Ella Fitzgerald and Wilbur De Paris . For the next decade he worked at Buster Bailey , Dakota Staton , Roy Eldridge and later again at Red Allen. He also recorded with Rosetta Tharpe and JC Higginbotham .
