Benoît Delépine (born August 30, 1958 in Saint-Quentin , France ) is a French screenwriter , film director , actor and comedian . He gained notoriety in France through his work in satirical programs on the French television channel Canal + . He became known beyond France through the film comedies Louise hires a Contract Killer and Mammuth .

Life

Benoît Delépine has been the author of the television program Les Guignols de l'info for many years , in which he writes about the fictional country of Groland and the role of the cynical journalist Mickael Kael. In 1997 he prepared these topics in Mickael Kael against the World News Company in his first feature film and took on the role of Mickael Kael himself.

In 2004 he worked for the first time together with Gustave Kervern as a screenwriter, director and actor in the movie Aaltra . The collaboration with Gustave Kervern was continued beyond this success in the films Avida , Louise hires a Contract Killer , Mammuth and The day will come , which won the jury's special prize in the Un Certain Regard category at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival .

In 2020 both received an invitation to compete at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival for the comedy Effacer l'historique .
