Bent Axes
Bent Axen (born August 12, 1925 in Copenhagen ; † May 20, 2010 in Mindebog ) was a Danish jazz pianist , theater and film composer.
Live and act
Axen played with Ib Renard in 1949/50 and was then a member of the band of Johnny Campbell and Max Brüel until 1958 , when he worked in Ib Glindemann's orchestra . In 1960 he founded his own jazz quintet and accompanied guest soloists such as Eric Dolphy in the Erik Moseholm trio . Between 1961 and 1967 he belonged to the radio jazz group of Danmarks Radio , for which he also wrote compositions. He also performed with Don Byas . He then worked as a theater musician and composer, first in the Gladsaxe Teater , and since 1971 in the Folketeatret . He also worked for film and television.
In 1960 he was named Danish "Jazz Musician of the Year".
