Bent Mejding
Bent August Mejding (born January 14, 1937 in Svendborg ) is a Danish actor, director and theater manager.
Career
After training as an accountant, Mejding graduated from Teaterdirektørforeningens Skuespillerskole from 1957 to 1959 and made his stage debut at Folketeatret in 1958 . After his acting training he was hired at Ny Teater . In 1961 he co-founded the Ungdoms Teater , which he headed as director from 1963 to 1975, and was involved in numerous productions as a director and actor. He also directed the Gladsaxe Teater from 1965 to 1966 , later the Allé Scenen from 1975 to 1980 and finally Det Ny Teater until 1996.
In addition to his theater career, Mejding has also appeared in numerous films since the beginning of his acting career. In the well-known scene from The Olsen Gang sees red , in which the gang saws, drills and blasts through the rooms of the Royal Theater to the beat of the music , Mejding played the role of conductor. In the television series Matador he was seen as Jørgen Varnæs . He was awarded the Robert twice and the Bodil once .
Bent Mejding was first married to the actress Susanne Rosenkrantz-Theil. In 1983 he married his long-time stage partner Susse Wold in his second marriage .
