Benthamiella pycnophylloides is a plant type from the genus Benthamiella in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).
description
Benthamiella pycnophylloides is a Chamaephyte . The leaves are 2.2 to 4 mm long and about 1.5 mm wide. Its edge is hairy with woolly trichomes . The calyx is 3 to 4 mm long, almost bell-shaped and has trichomes on the edge that resemble those of the leaves. The crown is 7 to 8 (rarely only 6) mm long, tubular and hairless. The five stamens do not protrude beyond the crown and are almost identical. The stamens are hairless and start at different heights in the central part of the corolla tube. Mostly having ovary a visible Nectary . The stylus is not or only slightly beyond the crown.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 22.
distribution
The species grows in the Patagonian steppes. It is native to Santa Cruz and southern Chile .

The species was first described by Carlos Luis Spegazzini in 1897 .
