Benyamin Sueb

Benyamin Sueb (born March 5, 1939 in Jakarta , † September 5, 1995 ibid) was an Indonesian actor , film director and singer . He produced 75 albums and 53 films.

Benyamin Sueb was born in the Kemayoran district of Jakarta . His parents are Suaeb and Aisyah. In addition to working as a singer , comedian , actor and film producer , he was also the chief executive officer of the Jiung Movies Company. He went to Bendungan Jago Elementary School in Jakarta from 1946 to 1951 and to Santo Yosef Bandung Elementary School from 1951 to 1952. In 1955 he graduated from Taman Madya Cikini Junior High School, in 1958 from Taman Siswa Senior High School. He did not graduate from Akademi Bank Jakarta. He attended courses at the Lembaga Pembinaan Perusahaan & Ketatalaksanaan in 1960, completed his basic military service in Kodam V Jaya in 1960 and attended courses in Lembaga Administrasi Negara in 1964.

With a voice between baritone and bass , he usually sang in Betawi .

At the Indonesian Film Festival he received the Citra Prize for best actor in the films Intan Berduri (1972) and Si Doel Anak Modern (1976). Sueb has also produced and directed 27 films.

After fifteen times he made pilgrimages to Mecca for Hajj .

Benyamin died after being in a coma for a few days. He is buried in Karet Bivak, Jakarta.
