Beowulf , also Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands is a British television series based on the Anglo-Saxon heroic poem Beowulf . The series will be broadcast for the first time on January 3, 2016 on the ITV station , after the pilot episode had previously been made available on the station's own platform ITV Hub since Christmas 2015 . The series consists of 13 episodes. In the US she was on the now discontinued Esquire Network .
