Berend Harms

Berend Harms (also Berend Harms-Bilsen ; born March 27, 1939 in Bilsen ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After graduating from high school, Harms studied physics and mathematics in Hamburg. In 1966 he passed the state examination and went on to study philosophy. He worked as a research assistant for the Max Planck Society , among others , and taught at a school in Hamburg and Quickborn . In 1970 he passed the second state examination.

1971 Harms was the SPD land list in the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein selected. In 1975, 1979 and 1983 he moved into the state parliament again via the state list. He belonged to a large number of state parliament committees and was chairman of the popular education committee in 1978/1979. In 1987 he left the state parliament.

He was a member of the district assembly of the district Pinneberg and 1991-2003 District Administrator of the circle. He was succeeded by Wolfgang Grimme (CDU).

Harms is a member of the Education and Science Union and the Workers' Welfare Union .
