The constellation of Mount Maenalus.

The Mount Mannalus ( Latin Mons Maenalus) is a constellation of the northern sky, which was introduced by the astronomer Johannes Hevelius . It is described in the star atlas Uranographia by Johann Elert Bode and other modern atlases, but is not one of the 88 constellations recognized by the International Astronomical Union (IAU).

The Mount Mannalus is a small group of stars between the official constellations Virgo and Bear Guardian and represents the base of the Bear Guardian Boat. It is named after a mountain in the central Peloponnese .

Mythologically, the name goes back to a brother of the nymph Callisto , whose son Arkas is the bear keeper.

The main star is the star 31 Bootis , which has a magnitude of 4.86 mag .
