The pilgrimage church Maria Namen , mostly just called the mountain church , is a side church of the city parish Zwiesel .

The elector's clerk Casimir Brandt and his wife Anna had a stone column with an image of Mary built in 1673. In 1682 they built a chapel for the picture from their own resources, which soon became the destination of pilgrimages. In 1767 the chapel was expanded to become today's mountain church. By letter of July 30, 1867, Pope Pius IX. perfect indulgence for eternity through worthy confession and communion in the time from September 8th to 15th in the mountain church, the "Bergablass".

The mountain church is 26 m long and 11 m wide. The roof turret dates from 1860. The baroque miraculous image on the high altar is 1.02 x 1.70 m in size. It represents Mary with the child, surrounded by fifty white and five red roses corresponding to the pearls of the rosary .

The three ceiling paintings of the mountain church from the time it was built in 1767 are by Franz Anton Rauscher . They show the Annunciation above the organ loft, the Birth of Mary in the center and Mary in the sanctuary as a refuge for sinners and the sick.

The organ of the mountain church was built in 1998 by the organ building company Eisenbarth (Passau). The purely mechanical instrument has ten registers on two manuals and a pedal . Two registers can be played in the other works via alternating loops .
