Report by the Commissioners for Migration, Refugees and Integration

The report by the Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration is a series of reports published by the German Federal Government since 1991 . The Federal Government Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration submits this status report to the German Bundestag approximately every two years. Each report is a scientific analysis and compilation of migration and foreign-specific topics and developments in a current context.

The report is currently referred to in the media as the integration report of the federal government or integration report for short (full title from the 11th report: Report of the Federal Government Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration - Participation, Equal Opportunities and Legal Development in the Immigration Society Germany ). However, the titles and abbreviations vary from report to report. The first reports of the commissioners were each called report on the situation of foreigners in the Federal Republic of Germany , or foreigner report for short .

Title, year of publication and topics of previous reports

  • 1st report ( report by the Federal Government Commissioner for the Integration of Foreign Workers and Members of Their Families , March 1991). The first report on foreigners was submitted by the Federal Government Commissioner for Foreigners, Lieselotte Funcke .
  • 2. Report ( report by the Federal Government Commissioner for Foreigners' Issues on the situation of foreigners in the Federal Republic of Germany ). The content and evaluation of the second report was drawn up under the sole responsibility of the Federal Government Commissioner for Foreigners, in accordance with the request for a report by the German Bundestag on September 23, 1993.
  • 3rd report ( Report of the Federal Government Commissioner for Foreigners' Issues on the Situation of Foreigners in the Federal Republic of Germany , December 1997) The report showed that the proportion of migrants was constantly increasing, but that young people with a foreign background continued to have significantly poorer educational opportunities.
  • 4. Report The report focuses on the reform of the nationality law. It highlights the importance of the European level for decisions in migration policy, deals with refugee policy issues such as the admission of war refugees and shows obstacles to integration and suggestions for their removal, including language and integration promotion.
  • 5. The report highlights a high percentage of early school leavers and a low training rate among immigrants despite the improved economy. This report, which spans the reporting period from spring 2010 to spring 2012, “provides information about the integration policy measures of the federal government, about progress in integration and about existing and new challenges.   • 11th report ( Report of the Federal Government Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration - Participation, Equal Opportunities and Legal Development in the Immigration Society Germany , December 2016) The report covers a two-year reporting period up to and including July 2016. Among other things, it shows successes in the educational qualifications of young people with a migration background and less success in the labor and training market, and he prepares a balance sheet on the Integration Act .
